C.D. Rencher

C.D. Rencher was born in Centerville, Illinois, on 11 September 1968. He grew up in E. St. Louis, Illinois. After graduating from high school, he served 11 years honorably in the United States Air Force, 5 years on active duty, and 6 years in active reserves. In 1995, he began his career in the bar business: over the course of the last 28 years, he has held, for the most part, every position in the Hospitality Service Industry: doorman, server, bartender, Disc Jockey, bar and restaurant manager, Beverage Manager.

In 2011, he discovered his true passion in life—writing. In 2012, his first book was released— Please, Step Into My Office. Please, Step Into My Office is a collection of short stories about the variety of interesting people the author met while working as a bartender in the lobby of a hotel located in downtown St. Louis, MO.

In 2016, he released his second book, Impromptu. Impromptu is a memoir of the author's life and experiences while working in the strip club industry. In 2017, Mr. Rencher completed the Daddy Issues screenplay—Daddy Issues is the pilot for a TV show created by the writer called The Nudie Bar; the show is loosely based on the book Impromptu. C.D. Rencher is also the owner and publisher of Rencherhouse Publishing L.L.C.

Book Synopsis

Please, Step into my Office is a book that chronicles the author’s multiple unique experiences that occurred during his 20 year career as a bartender. Sigmund Freud developed the therapeutic technique known as Free Association; Free Association is were a patient reports their thoughts without reservation and makes no attempt to concentrate while doing so. Outside of a professional therapist office, in the author’s opinion, the bar setting is the next likeliest place where Free Association occurs. The author has met celebrities, people who work in extraordinary professions, and amazing every day people who have shared unsolicited glimpses of the people they are, the places they have been, and the things they have seen. The book is formatted as a collection of short stories, each with their own beginning, ending, and individual plot and theme. The one common denominator that permeates throughout the entirety of the book is the acquisition of knowledge and personal growth experienced by the author due to the encounters with the protagonist of each short story. The author hopes that the reader will find the book to be an easy read that is both entertaining and informative. So, with no further ado, Please, Step into my Office.

Before C.D. Rencher discovered his passion for writing, he worked off and on for 16 years in the strip club industry. His first job at a strip club was as a male entertainer. From there he transitioned into bartending before eventually achieving his ultimate goal, a strip club disc jockey.

Impromptu is a book that discloses a collection of short stories depicting the author’s life and times within the strip club industry. For the author: the strip club business operates in a gray area that exists between two hemispheres; one good and one bad.
